Final Frontier's dream team work for DBS bank, this is a diverse set of animated idents by five different directors for DBS, Asia’s largest bank, to promote the launch of its new CheatSheet service for students. 

 

这套为亚洲最大的银行星展银行(DBS)制作的动画Logo短篇,是FinalFrontier终极先锋集结了五名优秀的导演分别创作出五支不同风格的动画,以推广其面向学生的新备忘单(Cheat Sheet)服务。

 

Conceived by Singapore’s The Secret Little Agency, the campaign was inspired by nostalgia for classic MTV idents.  In an unusually playful and edgy creative approach for a bank, the campaign harnesses the unique styles and creativity of individual artists, much like the music channel did back in the 1980s and ‘90s.

 

该活动由新加坡创意公司The Secret Little Agency构想,灵感来自对经典MTV 动画广告短篇。该活动以一种不同寻常的有趣和前卫的创意方式,通过不同艺术家独特的风格和创造力,为大家展示出上世纪八九十年代的感觉。

 

To execute the required diversity, Final Frontier called upon a dream team of directors from its roster, from locations across Europe, North and South America.  Covering multiple storytelling genres, each story is told in a different visual aesthetic, with the set united by a tongue-in-cheek tone running throughout.

 

为了实现所需的多元化,FF终极先锋征集了一支由来自欧洲、北美和南美各地的导演组成的梦之队。它涵盖了多种叙事类型,每个故事都以不同的视觉美学来讲述,整部作品以半开玩笑的口吻贯穿始终。

This film was created as opening titles for CICLOPE festival, December 2nd 2019, in Madrid. A semi-autobiographical journey back to the 1980s and 90s, fondly recalls formative days in the city, skating, sketching tattoos and exploring self expression.

 

这部影片是为2019年12月2日,在西班牙马德里举办的CICLOPE国际广告创意节制作的开幕影片。带领我们回到上世纪80、90年代,用半自传体方式深情地回忆了80和90后在城市的成长岁月,在滑冰场上、在画满纹身图案的素描本上,在各个地方寻求着表达自我。

 

The film is paying homage to the 80s and 90s kids that have grown up to shape today’s creative landscape

 

这支影片是向那些出生在80、90年代,长大后投身于创意领域的艺术家们致敬。

 

Some might remember the ’80s and the ’90s as a “simpler" time of Super Nintendo, b-ball, and hi-tops, but they was so much more. When you think about it, those iconic generations shaped today’s artistic and creative landscape, one of applied artistic skills and ideas, of different styles and paths in life.  We can thank the adventurous “creative industry generation” of the ’80s and 90’s for that.

 

在某些人的记忆中,80、90年代可能是有着超级任天堂、篮球和hi-tops鞋的“简单”时光,事实上远远不止于此。仔细想想,正是80和90后塑造了今天的艺术和创意领域,是他们用艺术技能和想法开拓了不同的生活方式。为此,我们应该感谢大胆的‘创意一代’80和90后。”

 

The film is a glimpse into a life lived in close proximity to, and directly influenced by, the sons and daughters of the decades that gave us grunge, hip-hop and underground parties.  It’s about growing up skating, excited to get your first tattoo, making art, whatever that meant to you.  It’s about being part of that generation, a coming of age story, translated into relatable characters on to whom we can project our collective past.

 

影片中只是那个年代的一个缩影,还有grunge音乐、嘻哈音乐、地下派对,直接影响着那个年代的其他人。无论滑冰,第一次纹身,艺术创作对你自己意味着什么,它就是那一代人的一部分,一个年代的印记,我们能够在故事中的人物找到自己的影子。”

 

The moral of this story is simple, like the ending of a good Saturday morning cartoon: our stories shape who we are, just like we shape the life we want to live.

 

这个故事的寓意很简单,就像一个精彩卡通故事的结局:我们的故事塑造了我们自己,就像我们塑造了我们想要的生活一样。

Final Frontier's latest work, produced a fantasy epic for OPPO to promote its new Reno Ace 2 phone, in collaboration with 2019 League of Legends World Championship-winning team, FPX.  The film was directed by Hans-Christoph Schulteheiss, backed by Hamburg CG powerhouse, Sehsucht.

 

这是Final Frontier终极先锋的最新制——为OPPO新产品宣传打造的一部奇幻史诗片。该片在德国汉堡的明星CG工作室Sehsucht的支持下,由Hans-Christoph Schulteheiss执导,2019英雄联盟全球总决赛冠军FPX主演,旨在推广OPPO旗下的最新发布产品——OPPO Ace2智能手机。

 

The 30-second spot features a mountaintop face-off between the FPX team, represented by hooded CG avatars featuring elements of their actual LoL avatars, and a terrifying assortment of challengers.  


在短短30秒的篇幅中,FPX战队的王牌们化身风格各异的英雄角色,身穿战服,手持利刃,与各路挑战者混战于山巅,上演了一出巅峰对决的好戏。

Another big brand work was done in last October. Final Frontier teamed up with London animation studio Art&Graft to execute the complete rebrand of CCTV Kids, the dedicated children’s channel of China’s national broadcaster.

 

就在去年的秋末,Final Frontier终极先锋与伦敦的动画工作室Art&Graft合作,完成了CCTV少儿频道的全面改版.

 

The brief called for a full visual make-over for the channel, creating a unique, modern on-air package including logo design and animation, idents and mixed media live action and animated promos.

 

创意要求是对该频道进行全面的视觉改造,创造一个独具一格的、更现代化的广播电台套装系统,包括Logo设计\动画、形象、混合媒体和动画宣传。

 

Art&Graft devised a three-tier brand system to appeal to the channels wide demographic, creating a series of harmonious fantasy worlds whilst incorporating the rich heritage of Chinese culture. The package also includes a brand family of original brand characters, set to represent the channel for years to come. In total the studio delivered over 60 final assets in the package.

 

Art&Graft提出了一个“三个不同年龄段的”品牌体系,以吸引频道的所有受众,创造了一系列和谐的幻想世界,同时融合了丰富的中国文化元素。其中还包括一个原创品牌家庭形象,适宜未来几年的频道宣传计划。最终的交付物料超过60个。

Titled “Fu”, the three-and-a-half minute 3D animation tells the story of Jia Jia, a young nurse whose pursuit of her career dreams in the big city prevent her from returning to her hometown for Chinese New year, much to the disappointment of herself and her parents.  Fortunately, Airbnb’s platform is on-hand to enable a unique solution.


片名为《福》,一支三分半钟的3D动画。我们的故事主人公佳佳,一个年轻的护士在大城市追求着她的事业梦想,但是她今年无法回到她的家乡过年,这令佳佳和父母都很沮丧。幸运的是,爱彼迎平台提供了一个独特的解决方案。

 

At the core of the film is the age old Chinese New year tradition of hanging a ‘Fú’ (meaning ‘blessing’)  banner upside down, symbolizing "good luck comes", tying in to the overall campaign idea of turning traditional concepts on their head; in this case, 'home' coming to Jia Jia rather than the other way around.

 

贯穿影片核心的是中国古老的新年传统——倒挂一面“福”字来象征着“好运到了”,这与整个宣传活动的理念和人们脑中印记的传统观念相结合——在这种情况下,与其到家未果,不如“家”来到佳佳身边。
